Song of the Day: Blackout - Breathe Carolina

With the absence of any major releases this week, I finally get the chance to review some less well-known songs. I've been able to predict such hits as "Tonight Tonight" and "Give Me Everything" in this fashion, so I have a shot here of picking another future popular song. The selection? "Blackout", a new single from rock/alternative band Breathe Carolina. Read on to listen to and read the review for "Blackout"!

For those of you who are first hearing of Breathe Carolina, this song is much different from quite a few of their hits. Believe it or not, Breathe Carolina is known for being a popular "screamer" band. However, this song takes on a completely different - and completely more conventional - sound.

That's definitely not a bad thing, either. This song is mostly based on pop, but uses Breathe Carolina's powerful rock and electronic sound to give pop a whole new dimension. Unlike most pop songs, this song has enough depth to never sound old or dated. The only thing I can criticize of this song - which takes it away from a 4.5 or 5-star score - is its grittiness. As I told you earlier, Breathe Carolina is a rock-based band, making this song suitable for an event such as the X Games or other extreme event, rather than hit radio.

However, I think this song is incredibly well-designed and was produced without sparing any genius. Everyone should listen to this song, and anyone who is a fan of light or heavy rock should buy this song. It's currently only 69c in America!

Rating: 4/5
