Platinum Hit: The Music Show Redefining Music Shows

Bravo is the king of reality TV. Some of the best shows have come from Bravo, including Top Chef and Project Runway. They have recently come out with the songwriting reality TV show Platinum Hit, and trust me; it doesn't disappoint! My predictions are after the "Read More" button, and watch the show at 10:00 P.M. EST in the US!

So, what's the deal with Platinum Hit? There are twelve songwriters competing for $100,000 and a contract with Sony Music Entertainment. The two main judges are accomplished country music singer Jewel and Kara DioGuardi, who you may know best as the former judge on American Idol and has written over 50 hit singles. Luckily, however, this time the winner isn't decided by who gets the most votes. The judges pick, making this an actual competition. My predictions are below.

12. Nevin James (already eliminated)
11. Blessing Offor (already eliminated)

How close will I be? Who knows? I'll write a post after the competition based on my results!

  1. I like this show! I find it to be so interesting but I can't really get into Kara's personality, possibly because she lacks one.

  2. Yeah, I'm kind-of with you on that one. Also, Pearl often seems to be very moot.

So, Karen was eliminnated, finishing 10th. Also, Johnny was the winning artist. That kind-of makes me rethink my later finishing order.

  4. Wow. I said Pearl instead of Jewel! I was really messed up yesterday.

Kara doesn't really have that much of a personality, but it was a good idea for Bravo to hire her. She has been on American Idol, so she is well-known by the general public.

  5. Ah see i can read this one!!

I agree with your top 2, as in performance talent, but in general songwriting its a bit more difficult. Johnny is good writing lyrics, and Scotty is an all goodrounder.
Saw the tweets about Johnny....so hard to believe he is out after winning the rap!
