It's finally here! The complete version of "Talk Talk Talk" was released worldwide hours ago. Although it's destined to become nowhere near popular in America (leading to a 1-week stint on the Fab 50, most likely), this should be heading on a path to success in the UK and Australia. Did the song live up to the 4 years we've been forced to wait for a new Darren Hayes song? Read on to find out!
The first thing that should jump out at you is that this sounds very little like Darren Hayes' previous sound. While most Americans may not be familiar with him, they're definitely familiar with his hit song with Savage Garden, before he started his solo career, from back in 1997. Just to put how long ago that was in perspective, I hadn't even started elementary school when this guy first claimed his popularity!
Despite the song not sounding like the traditional Darren Hayes (which may be good, considering how unpopular slow songs are these days), it definitely is in a class of its own. The producing on this piece, which was a collab between Hayes and Carl Falk (Nicole Scherzinger's "Don't Hold Your Breath") is a complete masterpiece. The synths in the song work perfectly with Darren's pure voice. Since we are currently at an absence for a solid male pop song, albeit "Don't Wanna Go Home", this piece definitely fills an important void.
If you love any type of pop music, you should definitely buy this piece and play it nonstop. It doesn't get old or "slow down" in your head after playing it repeatedly, making it a real charm!
