Javier Colon hasn't been heard of much since the end of The Voice. However, he's finally released his first single, a collab with Natasha Bedingfield called "As Long As We Got Love"! The Project: Mobius Fab 50 - Week of October 31, 2011

Christina Perri's new single for Twilight, "A Thousand Years", was released late last month. Although it's not as great of a song as "Arms" or "Jar of Hearts", it definitely is going to get some recognition - especially on my chart this week, being the highest song. However, are Rihanna and Calvin Harris the only people to find love this Halloween, and reclaim their #1 spot? Read on and find out!

UK electronic group Nero have released "Promises" for free in the United States this week, hoping to get their voice recognized here as much as it is in Europe. The Project: Mobius Fab 50 - Week of October 24, 2011

It may have been awhile, but I'm back! Also late for arrival are Breathe Carolina with "Blackout", a song that not only is on the top 200 for iTunes despite being free earlier, but also broke into the top 40 on Mediabase this week, as well as entering the top 25 of Billboard's "Heatseekers" chart. How high does this propel the almost eliminated song on the Fab 50? Also, is Rihanna able to stay at the top with "We Found Love"? Read on to find out!

Have you been watching X-Factor? If so, you've heard this song every time the ubiquitous Pepsi commercial comes on. Song of the Day: The One That Got Away - Katy Perry

Although her streak of 69 straight weeks in the top 10 on Billboard may have ended, Katy Perry's still trying to extend her streak of #1 singles from Teenage Dream to 6. The single attempting to do such is "The One That Got Away", the first ballad that Katy Perry's attempted to release since "Thinking of You" - although this song has a much more noticeable pop tangent, as Katy's figured out that the general public only likes her when singing pop songs. Still, though, is this song strong enough to get Katy Perry back to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100? Read on to find out!

After being treated to his appearance on X Factor last night, fans are looking forward to a new release from Enrique Iglesias. What is it? "I Like How It Feels (Feat. The Project: Mobius Fab 50 - Week of October 10, 2011

Fueled By Ramen is getting a huge taste of success this week on the Fab 50, after two of their songs enter the top 4. I took a big risk on both of these songs (on "Stereo Hearts" by putting in on my chart in mid-June, on "You Make Me Feel..." by giving it a 4.5/5), but both of my risks paid off, and the songs are both successful and still climbing on the charts! However, were either of these songs able to make the jump to #1? Read on to find out! Hint: There's a new #1 this week!

Song of the Day: Criminal - Britney Spears

I must admit that "Criminal" wouldn't have been my next choice for Britney when picking out her next single. However, the reworked radio version's chorus sounds much better than the original, and is primed for listeners. Is it enough for Britney to get to #1 again, after fellow competitors Lady Gaga and Rihanna have fallen short with their most recent singles? Song of the Day: Crawling Back To You - Daughtry

Although Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have been arguably the greatest successes from American Idol, Chris Daughtry has definitely been the most successful male from the show - and he didn't even win! With his new album Break the Spell coming out on November 21st, Daughtry's band (simply named Daughtry) releases their first single from the new album. Does it continue Daughtry's previous successes with singles? Read on for my take!

Song of the Day: Hangover - Taio Cruz (Feat. Flo Rida)

It seems as though Taio Cruz is great at making great songs, but isn't so great at making them popular in America. Sliding in today on the iTunes sales chart outside of the top 20 is Taio's "Hangover", made with Flo Rida, the guy that makes music with great beats ("Turn Around", "Good Feeling"), yet isn't a singer himself. Does 1 + 1 = perfection, or just more of the same? Read on to hear the whole song - trust me, it's worth it!

Who would have though that the world's most AutoTune-d artist would make a song with one of the few artists that doesn't need to be AutoTune-d at all? Well, it happened, and the collaboration has to be ruined by Wiz Khalifa! Song of the Day: When We Stand Together - Nickelback

Nickelback's back! (A little cliché? I try!) Anyways, the last rock band standing has made a last-ditch to stay relevant with their album Here and Now, which premieres in late November. After their last top 10 single was released in 2008, Nickelback has tried and failed 4 times to replicate the effort which it has done 6 times before in its career. Can "When We Stand Together" be a 7th career top 10 single for Nickelback? Read on for the answer!

Song of the Day: Strange Clouds - B.o.B. (Feat. Lil' Wayne)

After B.o.B.'s incredible mainstream success through the earlier part of 2010 (with 3 top 10 hits, including #1 "Nothin' On You"), B.o.B. has gone over a year without a successful release of his own single. As a debut for the same-titled album to be released in 2012, Strange Clouds is a hip-hop collab with Lil' Wayne, who could easily be called the busiest man of 2011 from his many releases and soundpieces. However, is the all-star collab, B.o.B.'s own credibility enough to make this song an autumn smash? Read on for my review!

You know, a solid single from Rihanna has been highly anticipated by me, despite the fact that she releases music as fast as a jackrabbit. Her last 3 singles have all been flops, so I was pretty excited to hear her new song, "We Found Love", from her upcoming album. However, was the new song's recent success enough for me to put it on the top of the Fab 50? You'll have to read the rest of the post to find out!

Song of the Day: I Like It Like That - Hot Chelle Rae (Feat. New Boyz)

It's been quite a while, but Hot Chelle Rae fans are finally getting a new song, after "Tonight Tonight" mysteriously vanishes from the Mediabase charts. "I Like It Like That" will premiere on iTunes on October 4th, and features the Cataracs' act New Boyz. Does this song have the same charm that made "Tonight Tonight" such a big hit? Read on to find out!

Song of the Day: We Found Love - Rihanna (Feat. Calvin Harris)

Are you kidding me? Rihanna's first single from her upcoming album (which I believe will have a cover much like the "R" logo you see above) is with Calvin Harris? As dance music finally makes its well-deserved progression into the mainstream, artists like Rihanna are using its trademark beats and repetition to help their own music. However, is it too far of a misdirection for an artist whose sound has become as different as R&B/pop Rihanna? Read on for my review!

The Project: Mobius Fab 50 - Week of September 19, 2011

Gavin DeGraw has had an interesting career. Although his songs never get high on the Hot 100, he's not regarded as anything but a major artist. With a fresh new song in "Not Over You", will he be able to get high on the chart? Probably not, but it's one of my favorite songs from him, so it charts well. Anyways, is "Pumped Up Kicks" able to keep up its long #1 streak this week? Read on for the chart!

Have you been waiting for this release? If so, you're not alone. I've always found Coldplay's innovative, almost U2-esque style to be very charming, and many of their songs to be "Paradise". Song of the Day: Good Feeling - Flo Rida

It's been a little while since we've heard a new Flo Rida-made single, hasn't it? The last one ("Who Dat Girl"; I won't count "Turn Around Pt. 2", since it was from Hangover 2) was released all the way back in January, and didn't amount to much. However, does this song have the potential to become a hit, unlike its predecessor? Read on for the review - and something unexpected!

Song of the Day: Without You - David Guetta (Feat. Usher)

It's very odd that a person can release an album with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Usher, Jessie J and Akon featured on tracks without getting much attention - excuse me, without getting ANY attention - from the blogging community. I'm going to change that today, with my review of "Without You", on which Usher is featured. This song has surprisingly gotten picked up on radio quite quickly, and could become a quick success. Does it deserve to? Don't let what I wrote above fool you!

After the surprising, prolonging success of "Super Bass", Nicki Minaj sets out to charm us on her next single from Pink Friday, "Fly", which happens to feature one of the best talents in music today (Rihanna). Many other singles from Pink Friday haven't had the success that "Super Bass" was blessed with, however. Does "Fly" have the talent needed for another Nicki Minaj hit? Jo Calderone's finally here! After crashing the MTV Video Music Awards last night, Lady Gaga's alter ego is able to score a hit with "You and I", which makes its way into the top 10 of the Fab 50 in its first official week as a single. Song of the Day: Nothing - The Script

I've been wanting to do this review for the best part of August, but I've never gotten to it until now. Guess what? The Script's back, folks! I've had my own personal rollercoaster with the Script (including highly praising "Breakeven" and being annoyed by "For the First Time"). Do I think that "Nothing" is the right single choice from Science & Faith for the Script? Read on to find out!

Song of the Day: Collide - Leona Lewis (Feat. Avicii)

The music video for "Collide" has already been released. And guess what - Avicii's actually getting credit for the instrumental now! Song of the Day: Stay Awake - Example

Example is great for hit music as a whole in more ways than one. Not only is he able to be one of the first artists to bring dance music into the mainstream, but he is also able to make rapping co-exist with his electronic style. Finally! Finally, a song has come out that is perfect enough, genuine enough, simply produced and performed well enough to be my 1st 5-star song! For most of you, this will come as a surprise - especially because of how poor David Guetta's music has been so far this year - but this song has truly charmed me. Yep, it's that time again! “The Edge of Glory” is starting to fade fast in both radio and sales, and Gaga needs to stay at the top. “Yoü and I” should do exactly that when it is released as a single on August 23rd. However, since it's coming from Mother Monster herself, we can expect nothing less. It's almost gotten to the point where we expect all of Lady Gaga's songs to be great masterpieces. Songs of the Month: July 2011

This month was the official month of party rocking. Sure, there were other songs that piqued America's interest (such as Pitbull's "Give Me Everything" and Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)"), but none compare to the impact that LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" had. However, there were many new songs that I reviewed recently that could be the next "Party Rock Anthem". What are they? Read on to find out!

Song of the Day: DJay - Mona Lisa



Just like you've never heard of the Freshmen, you've probably never heard of Mona Lisa. These girls' career didn't kick off in the late '90s (when Urban/R&B music was popular), but they take influence from both that time period and today's dance music scene. Influences from both of these musical directions are evident in "DJay", and combine to make a song that deserves to be more popular than it ever will be.

Freaky Friday: Rebecca Black's 2nd Single Bombs - And I Mean, BOMBS!

Remember when Rebecca Black released "My Moment", fresh off the heels of the best song of the year so far (note sarcasm), "Friday"? Well, it seems like no one does anymore. Believe it or not, this was released less than a week ago, and I'm happy to say I haven't heard anybody talk about Rebecca since then. Why? This song sucks, but isn't so horribly fantastic that it becomes as iconic as "Friday". You don't need to read on, because I'm not going to force you to watch the video. Just a heads up, though - Rebecca Black's finally faded!
