This week is rock week on my site. Why? Many big rock releases have been released in the past couple of the weeks, and I currently don't have any rock songs on the Fab 50 after the departure of Seether's "Country Song"! With that being said, I'll start rock week off with my favorite song from one of my favorite bands in Creed, "With Arms Wide Open". Read on to listen!
Note: The term "rock" is used loosely above. This blog isn't turning into a rock blog before your eyes; I'll still be talking about top 40 music!
There's a reason "With Arms Wide Open" is one of my favorite songs. Although it's a dreaded slow song, it is backed with strong vocals and a rock instrumental. It also tackles a huge subject in having a child, and I looked up to the song in a way when I first heard it as a small child. I was 6 or 7 the first time I heard it (soon after it was released), and it was the first time I ever thought about what I'd do when I grew up, or if I would have a good future.
This is a huge song for me personally, but it's a great piece on its own! I would definitely recommend anyone and everyone to listen to it, although I'm sure you all have at one point or another. After all, it was a big hit when it first came out, and I now consider it close to a classic!
weird, I was just singing this song lol
ReplyDeleteI've always loved this song. It was my favorite for most of my life, until about a year ago when I heard a mysterious masterpiece in the Suits XL's "Play".
